Please be aware that social housing is in very high demand and therefore processing times for your housing application may be longer than expected. In order for our teams to process your application as quickly as possible, please:

  • provide all documents required, these can be uploaded as part of your application when submitted online.
  • check your status online, rather than phone in or email as this diverts resources away from processing the applications.
  • only contact during the application process if you have an urgent housing need or at risk of homelessness

Your cooperation is appreciated and you will be notified as soon as your application has been assessed.

We also request that our customers be polite and respectful to our teams when they are trying to assist you. Unacceptable/abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.

Please remember we are here to help you but cannot always provide you with the outcome you would like.

For specific information relating to North Kesteven District Council or to City of Lincoln Council please see the relevant authority’s information pages.

Welcome to LincsHomefinder

LincsHomefinder is a partnership between the City of Lincoln Council and North Kesteven District Council where each council operates a choice based lettings scheme, which means you have more flexibility in choosing which areas you wish to live, within each authority district.

The purpose of LincsHomefinder is to provide an online service for both authorities where you can submit an online application, upload documents, submit a change in your circumstances, bid for vacancies (once your application is active) and more.

Each authority operates its own Allocations Policy, and this will be applied when you choose which authority you wish to be housed with. If you wish to be considered for housing within both authorities, you will receive two separate assessments. These will make it clear which authority has assessed your application, your banding and which property types and number of bedrooms you are entitled to (these can differ between each authority).

You can view the information pages to find out more about how each authority allocates their properties and other useful information such as qualifying criteria and documents that may be required in support of your application.
