Homeless or threat of homelessness:

In the event that you find yourself homeless without accommodation or with a threat of homelessness within 56 days you should register you application online & contact the Housing Options Team as soon as possible for further assistance.

What will happen if I am homeless ?

A full assessment will be undertaken by a Housing Options officer to establish your circumstances, and any support needs that you may have.

If you are without accommodation, we may offer you a relief duty which means we will work with you to relieve your homelessness within a 56 day period.

Will I be provided with emergency accommodation?

Not all cases qualify to be provided with temporary accommodation but this will be offered if applicable to your case and if we are unable to offer this option we will consider all other possibilities available to you.

Will I be provided with social housing?

No, please be aware that assistance does NOT necessarily mean that you will be provided with social housing as due to supply and demand this cannot be guaranteed.  However, it may be that we are able to resolve your homelessness by assisting in securing a private rented tenancy or for those single applicants, securing you a placement in supported housing projects within the area.

Whatever your situation, all factors will be taken into account and we will work with you until a suitable outcome is reached.
